Our family bought this product for our daughter who has been struggling with learning to ride her bike. I installed the handle immediately and took our daughter our for a bike learning session and she was riding on her own (on straightaways) within 30 minutes. The handle makes things much better for both teacher and student (parent and child). By allowing the teacher to stand-off from the student, you don’t have to be straining your back. And the student cannot feel whether or not the teacher is holding on, or not. (Prior to installing this handle, I was gripping the underside of the bike saddle / seat.) So I was able to let go and my daughter was not aware or self conscious and just kept peddling along. The only downsides are: – The geometric of the handle won’t work on all bikes. In fact I had to install the handle reversed, so the bar would avoid the seat. This made the grip positioned straight up, which at first was kinda weird. But it worked out absolutely great – it made the handle like a joystick and so easy to take control when my daughter was having some challenges. – Not all bikes have the proper space to install the bracket in the rear A frame. So be careful to check your bike first. – On a related note to the manufacturer: there should be alternate methods to connect this to the bike, i.e. with a clamp to the seat post, etc.. Even with those issues, this product is great and I strongly recommend it to anyone trying to teach a person to bike, and if you need that little extra something to help the student get across the line. Happy Riding.
