A servo shield is a device that allows you to control multiple servo motors with your Arduino board. This 16 channel servo shield is a specific type of servo shield that can control up to 16 servo motors using a 12-bit pulse width modulation (PWM) signal and an I2C interface. The PCA9685 chip on the shield is what allows it to control the servos using the I2C interface. To use the servo shield, you will need to connect it to your Arduino board and then connect your servo motors to the appropriate channels on the shield. You can then use the Arduino programming language to send control signals to the shield to move the servos to specific positions. There are a number of libraries available that make it easy to control servo motors using an Arduino board and a servo shield. These libraries often include functions for setting the position of the servos, as well as functions for moving the servos to specific positions over time (for example, to create smooth movement). Build the ultimate robot or servo control system with this Arduino Shield. Using only two pins, control 16 free-running PWM outputs! You can even chain up 62 breakouts to control up to 992 PWM outputs in total!
